LSO Grading

I have done countless traps on the carrier and I'm still having trouble getting good grades on the landings even though to my untrained eye most of them are about the same.

What is the LSO looking for???
Lineup
Attitude
Speed
Altitude
Wire

Also, from what point in the landing pattern does the LSO start grading you?
